Position Summary
Graduate student intern works on the Learning Research team in the Learning Resources group. The intern will conduct data mining research to inform decisions about how to deliver effective learning experiences in Adobe software and on the web.
Responsibilities
• Use applicable techniques in pattern recognition, data and text mining, information retrieval, and statistical natural language processing to analyze:
o web traffic, particularly related to search, to various sections of Adobe.com
oCustomer satisfaction data, including both quantitative and open-ended text-based data
oweb-page ratings and comments generated by users.
Requirements
•Strong programming skills
•Coursework and/or experience in several of the following areas: data mining and pattern recognition, information retrieval, statistical natural language processing, interface design
•Experience with tools and software used in these courses, along with the ability to rapidly pick up new tools through exploration
•Statistical analysis skills
•Ability to collaborate
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Internships typically last at least one term, with the possibility of extending through the year.
•Candidates must be enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in computer science, computational linguistics, or a related field.
