"Better Bitcoin Confidential Transactions using short Range Proofs"



Confidential Transactions extend standard Bitcoin transactions by allowing the sender and receiver to hide the actual amounts transacted while still retaining public verifiability of the transaction's validity. We propose several improvements to the Confidential Transactions by leveraging novel zero-knowledge proofs that hidden commitments are positive. These proofs are exponentially shorter than previously used range proofs but retain non-interactivity and do not require a trusted setup.
