2009 Poster Sessions : Embedded Management Interfaces: Emerging Massive Insecurity

Student Name : Hristo Bojinov
Advisor : John Mitchell
Research Areas: Computer Systems, Theory
We give an overview of vulnerabilities in embedded, browser-based management interfaces in devices from a variety of categories and vendors: desktop and laptop computers, small NAS devices, security cameras, and picture frames. We discuss the causes of these vulnerabilities, and ways of avoiding them. An outline of planned future work is also included.

Hristo Bojinov is a PhD student at the Stanford Security Lab. Prior to joining the Computer Science PhD program at Stanford, Hristo worked in various software engineering and management positions at Oracle, Decru, and NetApp. He got his SB degree in Computer Science and Engineering at MIT.
