2013 Poster Sessions : Log-structured Memory in RAMCloud

Student Name : Stephen Rumble
Advisor : John K. Ousterhout
Research Areas: Computer Systems
We present log-structured memory, a technique for managing memory in a persistent, distributed key-value storage system. Log-structured memory's key advantage over standard memory allocators is that it makes efficient use of memory even under drastically changing workloads. This technique is also naturally amenable to distributed storage systems that must replicate their data on remote nodes for durability.

Steve Rumble is a 5th year PhD student working on the RAMCloud project.
