2008 Poster Sessions : Congestion Management for Ethernet

In this poster, we discuss our work on designing a congestion control scheme for Ethernet networks. This scheme is distinguished by being based on multi-level congestion notification messages sent by congested intermediate switches to active sources where these sources would adjust their rates accordingly. We present our design and simulation results of this work, which is part of the IEEE 802.3 standard today.

Abdul is a 2nd-year Ph.D. student at Stanford University working on congestion control and buffer sizing problems. Prior to joining Stanford, Abdul finished his M.Sc. degree from Rice University and his B.E. degree from the Lebanese American University.
