From Stanford CSD History
The purpose of this site is to create and maintain a historical record of events related to Stanford's Computer Science Department (CSDSU).
The faculty of CSDSU reserve the right to edit or remove items posted here, and to remove registered users from the site.
Who may contribute
Anybody may contribute to this site. We do, however, want to know who you are. So you must register as a site user in order to contribute.
- Register as a user
- Create a brief description of yourself and your relation to CSDSU on your user page. See User:Dbrown for an example. You should see a user link at the very top of the page; that takes you to your user page.
Sign your contributions
When you create a new article or edit and existing one, please identify yourself. It's very easy to do so. On the editing screen, the second button from the right is a "signature" button. It puts your user name and a timestamp at the cursor.
Creating new articles
You may create a new article on a topic of your choosing related to CSDSU. See Help:Creating a new article for a how to do so.
Editing existing articles
You may edit any existing article except the Timeline. See Help:Editing an existing article for how to do so. To edit an entire article, use the edit link at the top of the page. To edit just one section, use the edit link at the beginning of the section.
We hope to keep the Timeline brief. Some topics, while reasonable for the site, would reduce the value of the Timeline.
If you would like to change the Timeline, see Help:Changing the timeline.
