How to Apply

To apply to the Visiting Scholar Program, the following items are required:

  • Application (PDF)
  • Photo
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Research objectives
  • Letter of recommendation from the manager
  • Statement of financial support
  • Copy of applicant and dependent passports (if applicable)
  • Employment Affiliation Letter 

Once the faculty sponsor agrees to host a Visiting Scholar and her/his appointment is approved, a letter of invitation, additional program information, and an invoice (payment due before the start of the program) will be sent to the Visiting Scholar.  

For international visitors, issuing a DS-2019 usually takes two or three weeks. Obtaining a J-1 entry visa from the US Consulate can take up to three months.
